nursery - part 1

jeramy and i originally painted the nursery green (safari green). once gavin came into this world though, the color of his room didn't look right. it didn't seem to fit him. we wanted to do something classic and simple instead. this is obviously a big step for us in beginning to prepare for gavin coming home one day. it was really hard for us to get to the point where we felt confident about his progress. the doctors, especially during the first month and a half, never mentioned anything about him coming home one day. i know that things can change at any moment and when gavin was in such critical condition, the last thing they wanted to do was give us false hope. however, we now feel so confident that he will come home with us one day. when?? well, that we don't know yet. we thank God every day for the progress that gavin is making and we know that without Him, none of this would be possible. it is with great joy and anticipation that we now begin the early stages of getting our house ready for our little boy.

we decided to go with blue on the top. the color is called "crystal waters"...it's absolutely precious. the bottom is an antique white and is called "ivory mist". my brother in law ryan, who is quite possibly one of the handiest men i have ever met, put up a wooden paneling as well. it looks exactly as i wanted. what do you think??

i will keep you all posted as things progress. next step.......furniture!

  1. I love your color choice Tracee!!! We went with the same room idea for our boys and since Mom seems to spend countless hours in that nursery, I know you will love the peaceful blue!!

I got an email from Marshall who does all the music at North Ridge Community Church. He is doing a concert with JJ Heller who you feature on your playlist. I thought you would like to know if you had a free moment to go see them July 2.

    Thinking of you Guys!

Make sure to join us Friday, July 2nd at 6:30pm here in the worship center for what promises to be an awesome evening of music! We are happy to be hosting a special concert with JJ Heller! Many of you already know JJ as she has visited NRCC several times, but may not know that she has a huge Christian hit called Your Hands that has been one of the most popular songs of the year! This is a FREE event sponsored by KFLR Radio. Marshall will be opening the show partnering with Eric Eggebrecht from NRL starting at 7pm. There will be a love offering taken to bless the Heller's ministry. This is an event for the whole family that we hope you can attend!

  8. The room looks great, and what a handsome boy will play in there! It sounds like he is doing so well, and that you have a nice routine of care for him (and yourselves!).
Your family remains in prayers from so many all over the country. We even took a moment at my sister's wedding last weekend to lift Gavin up in prayer at Lake Murray, SC!

    You are all loved!
